Description

These geese are a version of the famous Meidum geese that were found by Auguste Mariette in 1871 in the mastaba of Nefermaat and his wife Atet. They date from 2575-2467 BC and I was lucky enough to admire it in the Cairo Museum. Since then these birds obsess me and have already appeared in versions in other paintings. Egyptian art is colossal and also an art of miniatures. I found a wine crate table and knew I had to make a new version of the famous geese. Colorful as were the Egyptian paintings and with one of the various readings that inspire me, that of not disturbing.
